Director, Customers, Strategy and Policy (Benefits and Credits), HM Revenue and Customs UK
Tom Smith works within Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs in the UK, where he is the director responsible for policy and strategy issues relating to tax credits (Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit) and Child Benefit.
He has been in this role since 2012. Before then he worked in a wide range of roles within the Business Ministry (under various different names) of the UK Civil Service, specialising in particular in international trade negotiations and in operational delivery.
