Workshop B: Optimising outcomes on a systems level through improved risk governance
Risk management relies on an expanded and multi-dimensional approach to the organisation – it is impossible to effectively mitigate risks without considering the interrelated factors with which they are involved. Yet, it is all too common to see delayed action on the prospective risk scenarios faced by public sector agencies, and highly siloed organisational processes in an increasingly complex risk environment. Government organisations must account for the governance requirements which involve a wide range of stakeholders both within and beyond your control.
This workshop is aimed at providing a constructive and mature approach to risk governance, which involves factors both within the workforce and in the broader environment. Led by a senior leader in risk management, governance, and assurance, you will join some of Australia’s best risk professionals to design an effective system-level governance strategy, with skills and insights into:
- Designing your risk governance strategy around real organisational and administrative challenges and opportunities at a sector level
- Generating governance mechanisms to address consequences of realised risks
- Constructing system-level solutions collaboratively to address key risks practically
- Engaging with actual potential risks through practical case study exercises
- Creating networks of interdepartmental collaboration in risk management and monitoring
- Navigating organisational and administrative barriers to change in risk management
- Designing collaborative approaches to best-practice risk governance alongside fellow risk management professionals from the country’s top organisations
